Pilot Sightings
Captain Achille Zaghetti was flying from Milan to Heathrow when he and his co-pilot saw a mysterious khaki-coloured, missile-shaped object streaking across the sky above the Kent countryside. The 10ft-long UFO came so close to the airliner that Capt Zaghetti shouted “Look out! Look out!” to his co-pilot, who also spotted the object. “It was shaped like a cigar and passed very close, about 300 metres on the right, or 1,000ft,” Capt Zaghetti told Italian newspapers, recalling the incident over Lydd, Kent, in 1991.
“It was military beige in colour. My co-pilot and I estimated that it was about three metres long. It was in the evening – around 8 or 9pm – when it is still light at altitude but dark on the ground,” said Capt Zaghetti, who lives in Grosseto, Tuscany. “It could have caused a terrible accident. If you’re flying at 700 kilometres an hour, hitting an object of 1kg is like hitting something which weighs 700kg.” The UFO was seen on radar by air traffic controllers at Heathrow, who were guiding a British Airways flight into land.

Pilot Sightings
LONDON (Reuters) – Two U.S. fighter planes were scrambled and ordered to shoot down an unidentified flying object (UFO) over the English countryside during the Cold War, according to secret files made public on Monday.
One pilot said he was seconds away from firing 24 rockets at the object, which moved erratically and gave a radar reading like “a flying aircraft carrier.”
The pilot, Milton Torres, now 77 and living in Miami, said it spent periods motionless in the sky before reaching estimated speeds of more than 7,600 mph (12,000 kph).
After the alert, a shadowy figure told Torres he must never talk about the incident and he duly kept silent for more than 30 years.
His story was among dozens of UFO sightings in defence ministry files released at the National Archives in London.
In a written account, Torres described how he scrambled his F-86 D Sabre jet in calm weather from the Royal Air Force base at Manston, Kent in May 1957.

Pilot Sightings
I love to read about other countries in the world and what they have experienced in the way of UFOs and such. This article is from a few years ago when the Soviets seemed to clash with a UFO. It’s a very good article that has been translated from Russian. As always, enjoy!
Soviet military encountered many UFOs, maybe for this reason in the end of the 60s a secret laboratory of researching “flying objects” was created in the USSR.
UFO researchers often blame the military of hiding the cases of alien rockets and disseminating false information of UFO. Army officers are not interested in the disputes about alien civilizations, they are interested in knowing what impact UFO can impose to military equipment and personnel.
1947. Antiaircraft guns of Transcaucasian Military District fired on the flying cigar-shaped object which came from the side of the Turkish border. The object”s flying altitude was below 4,000 meters, and the guns were capable of reaching a target at the altitudes up to 12,000 meters, but that time the fire made no harm to the “cigar”. Then the cigar increased its speed and flew away over the mountains.

Pilot Sightings
Turkey — On 1 November 2002, according to a Turkish UFO site, airline pilots in several different planes, as well as witnesses on the ground, saw a bright light which they at first thought was another plane. However, when it broke up into a group of smaller lights and rapidly vanished, they realized it was a UFO. One pilot said: “I’m 100 per cent certain that the object I saw was not a conventional aircraft, an asteroid or a comet. It was definitely a UFO.”
One of the pilots described the sighting: “We realized that it was not a conventional aircraft but certainly a UFO. As a matter of fact, I saw 10 or 15 constant lights flying very close to each other, and there was a blinking bright white light underneath. These white lights were leaving yellowish trails behind them. Then they started to move away from each other. We observed them for about 40 seconds until they disappeared, so I concluded that they flew faster than the speed of light.”
Another pilot reported: “We realized that it’s quite unlikely for this thing to be an asteroid. From the reddish colour emerging from it, we thought that it might be an airplane in some state of emergency or even about to crash. When it came to the 12 o’clock position we saw a mass of red light in front of it, small light formations stretching back behind it, and one more blinking light on its rear edge as if it were the beacon of an airplane. This thing was definitely not an airplane or an asteroid. It was something like glowing light formations moving together in a bigger mass of light. [Then] the mass of light disappeared and the small bright formations moved away.”

Pilot Sightings
This is from a sighting back in April of 2007. As I’ve stated many times already, any pilots sightings I can get my hands on will get on the website. Pilots are simply some of the best witnesses out there, as they are familiar with various kinds of aircraft and I think it’s safe to assume that quite a few, if not all, were previous military pilots. Enjoy the article my friends!
Britian’s x-file detectives are to investigate the sighting of a one-mile-wide UFO near Alderney earlier this week. The UK Ministry of Defence’s equivalent of FBI special agents Mulder and Scully will investigate the UFO reports made by two commercial pilots flying separate planes on Monday afternoon.
Radar equipment in Jersey did not detect the object, although the duty air traffic controller at Jersey airport, Paul Kelly, confirmed that he received simultaneous reports from the pilots of Aurigny and Blue Island aircraft.

Pilot Sightings
This is an older article I found that I thought you would all like to read. These are highly credible witnesses, so I feel I should it include it on the site.
Nineteen former pilots and government officials have asked the United States to intensify investigations of unidentified flying objects, calling the reports a national security concern that shouldn’t be casually dismissed.
The group is hard to dismiss as a bunch of stereotypical UFO crackpots. Many of them are ex-military; several claim to have personally encountered UFOs.
Fife Symington, an ex-air force pilot and former Arizona goveror who claims to have seen a UFO in 1997, told Agence-France Press that “We want the US government to stop perpetuating the myth that all UFOs can be explained away in down-to-earth, conventional terms.”
In a statement, the group declared that “for reasons of both national security and flight safety, every country should make an effort to identify any object in its airspace.”
Fair enough, though I’d rather have the government searching for UFOs out of intergalactic good will rather than concern about the home planet. Then again, Dennis Kucinich was on the panel — don’t laugh, Ronald Reagan said he saw a UFO, too — so at least someone will be there to welcome the little green men with open arms and inexpensive health care.
